Three Private Suites
Exclusively Yours
The Entire Manor,
Reserved for You
All three of our beautifully appointed double suites are reserved exclusively for your party. There are no other guests, no shared dining rooms, no strangers at breakfast. Bergheim is yours alone — up to 10 guests in complete, undivided privacy.
Each suite has been individually curated with period furnishings, luxury bedding, and an en-suite bathroom. A European breakfast is included and served at 09:00. A full breakfast menu is available at an additional charge.
The Manor Suite
Named for D.J. Opperman, one of the greatest voices in Afrikaans literature. Our grandest room, echoing the original splendour of the 1903 manor. High ornate ceilings, period furnishings collected over decades, and a sense of space and quiet that is increasingly rare in Johannesburg.
The Garden Suite
Named for J.H. Pierneef, South Africa's most celebrated landscape painter. A serene retreat appointed with quiet elegance — gold French chairs, an oval mirror, toile curtains catching the morning light. The name comes from its aspect over our heritage gardens, where breakfast is sometimes served on warm mornings.
The Library Suite
Named for C. Louis Leipoldt — poet, playwright, and passionate gourmand. Intimate and beautifully curated — the whimsical suite with its cane armchair, morning light through tall windows, and access to our 140m² library next door. For those who appreciate the art of slow, considered living.
The Langenhoven
Named for C.J. Langenhoven — poet, author, and the man who gave Afrikaans its anthem. Our private cottage sits apart from the main manor, offering a secluded retreat with its own entrance, character, and charm.
The Langenhoven sleeps 2 in a double bed, with a sleeper couch for an additional 2 guests. A perfect hideaway for a couple, or a small family seeking something a little more private.
